    Emergency Humanitarian Assistance Project of Vanuatu

    Located in south pacific island, Vanuatu was hit by Category 5 cyclone Pam on 14th, March 2015 local time and declared a state of emergency,which has caused tremendous property loss and casualties. Chinese government immediately decided to provide RMB 30 million yuan worth of relief supplies for emergent humanitarian aid to Vanuatu.



    Quickly responding to the project information, CCOEC was successfully awarded the emergency humanitarian assistance project of Vanuatu by MOFCOM on 18th, March with the highly sense of responsibility and politics and efficient project execution of relief assistance. Facing so many difficulties such as tight schedule of delivery, heavy work and complicated transportation plan, CCOEC kicked off the preparation for procurement and transportation the same night of winning the bid in order to guarantee the quality and delivery of relief supplies.

    On the afternoon of March 21, a chartered plane loaded with 260 tents, the first batch of emergency humanitarian aid from the Chinese government to Vanuatu took off from Tianjin Binhai International Airport. At 18:00 of March 22 Beijing time, the plane was arrived in Port Vila International Airport. Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Xie Bohua and Prime Minister of Vanuatu Joe Natuman attended the handover ceremony at the airport. Taking off from Shanghai Pudong Airport on 26th, March 2015, the second batch of relief supplies including tents, canvas and food arrived in Vanuatu on 27th, March. The Third batch including food, diesel generators arrived respectively on 29th March, 30th March and 2nd April, which remarks that all the relief supplies have safely transported to Vanuatu by 5 chartered planes and successfully handed over to the government of Vanuatu



    With professionals who can fight in the tough battle and have rich experience of emergency humanitarian assistance, CCOEC implemented this project perfectly and efficiently, which was highly praised and fully recognized by the government of Vanuatu, Chinese Embassy to Vanuatu and MOFCOM.
